Almost a year ago, it was our baby Zack who was the newest baby on the block. Now we’re happy to welcome our couple friend’s first baby, Ava. She was born last week just a few days short of her mom’s birthday. We went to the hospital as soon as we could but it was already late and the nursery was already closed when we got there. We chatted with our friends and gave them a few tips about taking care of their baby. They don’t need our advice though because they are already well prepared. Ava is just a few days old but her parents are already planning her baptism and birthday party. I’m sure even the Thank You Notes will be ready months before the actual celebration. I don’t blame them, it’s really a blessing to have a baby. Congratulations to our friends for their bouncing baby girl.

I am glad I have finally come around to manage our pictures. I bought a 2 year membership at Photobucket and have been uploading our pictures nonstop ever since. Being unorganized really is a sickness and I don’t want to be a victim anymore. Just organizing our pictures made me feel a lot better. It’s like a dark cloud has passed and a weight was lifted from my shoulder. I know I may sound exaggerating but it must have lingered in my subconscious all along. I hate that our pictures are all over the place. Now with the help of Photobucket, our pictures are organized by month and year and I can easily retrieve the picture I want anytime.

After I’m done uploading and organizing our pictures I will buy a document management software next. We have a lot of documents and important papers we need to file and that would make my organizing a lot easier.

This tarpaulin was made for our son’s dedication day held at Rafael Restaurant in Caloocan. Since it was our Dad who made the arrangements we didn’t get to see the restaurant beforehand. We just sent them three pictures of Zach through email plus his information like name and date of the event. When we got there on the day of the dedication we were surprised and pleased with the outcome. We were happy to see his cute pictures in the tarpaulin.  I’m glad they make celebrations less stressful by providing everything from tarpaulins to giveaways and not to mention the food and the place.

It’s only two weeks from my due date and I’m still as busy as ever.  Unlike before when I was still working in call center now that I’m working at home there would definitely be no maternity leave for me.  I am predicting that a day or two after I deliver my baby I will be on the laptop working.  That’s the life of a work-at-home mom, you can’t miss any opportunities that come your way.

I don’t feel sad about it though because my online job is easier compared to my work before.  The worst thing about working far from home is leaving your child behind.  I’m glad that I won’t have to experience that because that is really the thing that would make a mom sad.  That’s why I’m still happy even I have no benefits like a paid two-month maternity leave.  Being with my sons 24/7 is a luxury that I have that working moms don’t have and I appreciate that so much.

I had my son read his Dad’s text message last night.  When he got to the “I miss you” part I was surprised to hear his voice choking.  I looked up and saw tears in his eyes.  It shocked me to see him so emotional over his Dad’s absence.  This is, after all, the first time they are apart for this long.  I tried to soothe him by telling him he’ll see his Dad again in four days.  He smiled as we counted the days together.  It really melts my heart how my son is so close to his Dad.  Growing up I never had this relationship with my Dad.  I’m almost envious with my son.  LOL!

Hubby left at 4am this morning.  He was fetched by his uncle and was driven to the airport.  This is going to be his first time to ride a plane.  He sure was apprehensive but I know he is excited at the same time.  This is going to be a once-in-a-lifetime chance for him to follow his dream of becoming a musician/songwriter.  He will be rubbing elbows with the best in the music industry in our country.  Even I, who is not into music at all, is impressed with the speaker lineup.  I actually know the guest artists in the camp and they really are the best here!  I’m so excited for him for living his dream.  Even if we’ll be missing him I know this is an important moment in his life and I share with him my happiness.
