We just visited the newest baby in our circle of friend. He is so small and so cute all of us were in awe the first time we saw him. Me and my husband couldn’t help but reminisce the first time we saw our own children. It was such a happy and blessed feeling and we are eternally grateful for our two bundles of joy. They give us happiness every day of their lives.

I;m sure our couple friends are feeling the same way now as we did when our children were born. They waited long to have their baby. In a few months they will have their baby baptized and of course we will be in attendance. As early as now I will prepare gift card envelopes to give them as a gift for the baby’s baptism.

Last Sunday, hubby and I had a date. Well, it was supposed to be a date but it turned into a mini-shopping for me! I found out that the nearest Forever 21 was at Makati so I chose Makati for our weekly date. We ate at Wendy’s, reminisced on our dating days and then I hurriedly pulled him to the direction of the F21 store at SM Makati. Now, the problem with shopping at Forever 21 is there are so many clothes it’s so hard to choose. Hubby waited outside while I shopped for clothes and before I know it an hour has passed already. We had to rush home because I am still breastfeeding my baby and I know he’s waiting for me. Hubby barely has enough time to buy some cuff links, a mouse that he uses for work, and his favorite caramel popcorn because of my shopping spree. Anyway, I’m so glad I have an understanding husband. Next time I won’t forget to bring the kids so hubby won’t get bored waiting for me while I shop. They can play at the playhouse or shop for toys while waiting for me.

My hubby is a guitar player. He has learned to play guitar on his own when he was a teenager. Later on, his Dad enrolled him in Yamaha School of Music so he was able to hone his craft. He is a very good guitar player and he was even accepted as part of the 7101 Music Nation – a group of music enthusiasts here in our country.

Although he never pursued this as a profession, his love for his hobby is evident because he makes time to go out and play music with his friends as often as he can. He also plays his instrument at our church regularly. That’s why we never run out of extra guitar strings in our house. With guitars, you never know when you need an extra string handy.

When my youngest was born and my helper started going back to school again, I hired another helper to help around the house. She is also a relative of our first helper but much older. I like that she knows how to work around the house especially when it comes to cooking food. She also takes care of our baby when I have too much work to do. Too bad she will be leaving by February to attend her daughter’s wedding. I’m still not sure if I will hire another one when she leaves. I want to save money but at the same time doing all the chores around the house is really tiring! I got to discuss this more with my husband and ask what he thinks.

Although we don’t need it that much now that we’re both working at home, I still want to buy cell phones for both of us this Christmas. Phones are not only for calling and texting but it’s also multipurpose. It can help us get connected through our social networking sites such as Facebook and Twitter when we’re too busy to turn on our laptop. It can also record special moments in our daily lives when our cameras are out of reach. Our cellphones are so small and so handy that most of the time we opt to use it instead of our other digital devices. Good thing phones have become so cheap that we don’t have to break the bank anymore to buy a good quality phone. I want the Samsung Galaxy Y that I’ve been hearing about and my hubby wants a Blackberry Curve. Hope we can buy this for Christmas.

Aside from receiving gifts, we’re looking forward more to a reunion with our family this Christmas. With family from my husband’s side and my side to go to, it is expected that we’ll have a lot of road trips to go to next month. We’re using an old car so it pays to have a roadside assistance plan. The last thing we want is to get stuck in the middle of nowhere during the holidays so it’s better to be prepared. Our car gave us some headache this past few months. Hubby had to go to the mechanic a couple times in a month. Thank God that’s over now and everything is smooth and running. Still an old car is going to be unreliable that’s why we got to have a back up plan.

Christmas is around the corner and my hubby will be asking me what gift I want for Christmas. Although we already have an iPad I think I want another one. This gadget is such a hit in our family that sometimes three people are taking turns using it. Even my 11 month baby wants to watch his favorite videos from time to time.

I hope he buys me my very own iPad. In return I’ll order one of those cheerleader costumes for adults that he has been telling me to wear for a long time. *wink

I didn’t expect it but it turned out more and more people are homeschooling their kids in our community. It all started when our neighboring pastor started homeschooling their kids which influenced some of the parent parishioners at the same time. By next year we will be having a mini-gathering so the kids can do extra-curricular activities twice a week. I hope the kids grow more in number so that we can even hold sports fests and give out sports trophies. We are loving homeschooling and have no plans of going back to regular school. As a matter of fact, we have already finished his level one PACES  and will be buying the level two by next week.

Can’t help but see the huge rock at the finger of our cousin yesterday. I wonder if it was one of those lovely scott kay rings I heard about. She just came abroad and is visiting with her husband and son. I heard she is on her way so I’m glad they are having more children.

I also like having some jewelry but ever since I lost our wedding ring I kind of don’t want to buy expensive jewelry anymore. Maybe I’ll get over this in a few years but in the meantime I’m holding off.

Being prepared means thinking ahead and being prepared in case of an emergency. For the head of the family, he must also think about the future of his family if ever an accident happens to him. The loss of the breadwinner can be devastating to the family. That is why it is advisable to buy term life insurance or a comprehensive life insure to ensure that the family can get back on its feet even though they lose their income. The website, www.cometobarter.com is a good place to check for good insurance deals. Buying insurance need not be a chore, it can be easy and stress free if you choose a professional and knowledgeable insurance agent.
